Panshanger Park: it’s Rise, Fall & Reincarnation
The Heritage Group is proud to announce it’s latest talk about Welwyn Garden City and the history that helps bring it about. Its latest talk, by local historian Geoffrey Hollis, describes the reason for Panshanger House’s rise – with one of the largest collections of fine art in private hands and a huge building in beautifully landscaped grounds, visited by Queen Victoria.
Geoffrey will also describe its downfall, and the extraordinary people that lived there.
The talk will take place at The View, the social centre of Panshanger Golf Club on Sunday 12th October, at 7.00pm opening for a 7.30pm start. Tickets cost £8 per person.
Geoffrey Hollis is a local historian who has researched, written and lectured on Welwyn Garden City and Hatfield, as well as leading tours of them for the Twentieth Century Society.
