New heritage exhibition: WGC Through Time
Together’s active Heritage Group is delighted to launch its first pop up heritage exhibition as part of Together’s WGC Celebration on 12 July, Welwyn Garden City Through Time.
The exhibition is a takeover in the former Clinton Card’s shop in the Howard Centre. It will tell the story of WGC through to the present time, including how Ebenezer Howard created the town and the Louis de Soissons plans. You’ll see how the town grew from farm land to the growth of the ‘high street’ and leisure in the town.
You will be able to explore exhibits of items made in the town and watch films of the town over the past century.
There will be Welwyn Garden City merchandise and books in our “shop” to help fund the activities of Together.
If you are knowledgeable about the town and have a few hours to spare, we need more volunteers to help keep the exhibition open for longer. Get in touch with our team at heritage@togetherforwgc.org.uk
