Heritage and History Walk: Midsummer Meander
Imagine the scene – its 1925 in Welwyn Garden City when the population was around 3,000. There are no ‘community buildings’ so a natural hollow in Sherrardswood – The Dell – was used to stage theatrical productions. This is where our story of history and heritage in the Garden City begins.
To coincide with the production at The Barn Theatre of “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” in June 2025 you are invited on a walking tour to learn more about the production, consider what life was like a century ago and show you where the Dell was located.
The event is hosted by volunteers from the Heritage group of Together for WGC. The walking tour starts at The Barn Theatre, Welwyn Garden City, AL8 6ST. The tour will last approximately 90 minutes and is free of charge.
Donations to our charity Together for WGC are most welcome.
There are 3 walks planned:
Saturday 7 June 2025 at 11am (The Barn cast and crew only)
Saturday 14 June 2025 at 11am
Tuesday 17 June 2025 at 6.30pm
